The Fact ~ The average meal travels over 1200 miles by truck, ship or plane before it reaches your table. This produces thousands of pounds of carbon emissions.
The Fix ~ Shop at farmers markets, food co-ops and your local producers.
The Fact ~ Every year 12 million barrels of oil are used to produce the 100 billion plastic shopping bags we use once and toss in the landfill, taking centuries to decompose.
The Fix ~ Get reusable tote bags and use for all shopping stops.
~Move Over Chicken ~ What is the healthiest meat you can eat? A nice lean chicken breast? Think again! Natural fed Lowline beef has about the same amount of total fat as chicken breast, but less cholesterol, 4 times as much Omega 3 fatty acids and 6 times more CLA. Natural fed Lowline beef is a healthier package. From a study published in 2006 in the
Journal of Animal Science"
~"The body uses saturated fat and essential fatty acids to build and repair the myelin sheath
around nerves. If these ingredients are not in the diet what else can the body use? Without
the good fats from natural or organic based eggs, meat, butter and whole milk, children
cannot produce healthy hormones. Without whole animal foods children will not have normally
developed immune systems. Is it any wonder that today in the US, children are being vaccinated
against 20 diseases in an effort to keep them from getting sick?"

~CLA Stability (Conjugated Linoleic Acid)~
To produce abundant CLA animals need to be eating fresh grass or legumes
CLA levels in milk range from 4mg/gm on conventional comercial fertilized
rations to 22mg/gm on organc fertilized pasture. Farms with naturally fed
livestock provide health giving foods for their customers. Those who pay
attention to organic soil and plant nutrition will have the healthiest livestock.
Healthy natural fed livestock provide foods highest in CLA and fat soluble
nutrients. A daily intake of CLA decreases the risk of diseases and certain
types of cancer. There are many healthy reasons for our farms to be natural
and organic based. Healthy for the land, the livestock and the people.

~The Middleman~
On most everything you buy the middleman gets a cut.
The cattle buyer sells to the feedlot, the feedlot sells to the packer
after pumping them full of growth hormones and commercial feed.
The packer then sells to the stores or restuarants. Do we really need
for all those people to make money off the consumer? You get better
quality meat if you buy natural fed meat from the producer.
Save money and eat healthy, buy direct.
